A Look Back at Past Shows

Below you'll find details on our past events. Check out our recap video and past schedules to help you plan for the upcoming show.

RE+ 2022

After three long years, 2022 marked the return of RE+ (featuring SPI & ESI), drawing a record-breaking 27,000+ attendees and 800 exhibitors to Anaheim, California. RE+ featured content for all aspects of the clean energy -- solar, storage, grid edge technologies, hydrogen, fuel cells, EV charging, and more! Several events co-located with RE+, including the Zero Emissions Bus Conference Center for Hydrogen Safety Americas Conference, and Idaho National Lab's Cybersecurity: Securing the Path to Net-Zero TM.

Smart Energy Week 2021

Due to Hurricane Ida, the in-person portion of Smart Energy Week was cancelled. However, that did not stop the Digital Education, which was made free to the entire industry. The Digital Education featured two days of critical insights featuring addresses from Jennifer Granholm, U.S. Department of Energy Secretary, and Gina McCarthy, White House National Climate Advisor.

Smart Energy Week 2020

The COVID-19 crisis challenged many events to reimagine ways to bring together communities, and SPI, ESI, and Smart Energy Week was no different. In order to provide an opportunity for the industry to learn and network, the event went completely virtual this year with its six weeks of Virtual Education Microconferences, as well as the Virtual Tradeshow. This virtual experience drew 3,000+ attendees from over 75 countries and 200+ exhibitors to our online platforms. The weekly education series ran from September 14 through October 27, with the Virtual Tradeshow taking place Oct. 21-22. This exceptional series included content and exhibitors from across the renewable energy industry, including solar, energy storage, microgrids, hydrogen, wind energy, and electric vehicles. Each week also included an engaging weekly roundup presented by Suncast Media and special interviews from the SolarCoaster and PV Magazine.

North America Smart Energy Week 2019

This is the center of integration. 2019 marked another blockbuster year for SPI, ESI, and North America Smart Energy Week, which drew 19,000 attendees and 700 exhibitors to the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah on September 23-26, 2019. This monumental week included Solar Power International (SPI), Energy Storage International (ESI), Smart Energy Marketplace + Microgrid, Hydrogen + Fuel Cells International, and the inaugural Wind Energy International. New initiatives launched in 2019 as well, included the Community Lounge, The Podcast Lounge presented by Suncast Media, and the interactive Microgrid Micropedia. This event has been named one of Trade Show Executive’s 100 largest trade shows, making it the largest energy event in North America and the only solar and energy storage event to receive such distinction.
