Solar Energy Trade Shows is Committed in the Fight Against, Racism, Injustice, and Inequality

We, at Solar Energy Trade Shows, are devastated by the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless other Black men and women who have had their lives cut short by systemic racism and an uneven application of justice. We stand with the Black community, in solidarity, and are united in the fight against racism, injustice, and inequality. Let us underscore that Black Lives Matter.

We have struggled with the right words and the right course of action as we try to process these tragedies and injustices. As an event organizer, we have the ability to leverage our education platforms to facilitate dialogue and develop active communities within the industry to support the fight against racial injustice.

SETS is committed to examining our own organization, listening and learning from experiences in the renewable energy industry and the broader society, and actively working to implement change throughout the energy industry. We strive to create a safe and welcoming experience at our events and implement lasting change through our research and guided conversations.

We support real reforms in our justice system and will continue to participate in initiatives with our partners at the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), the Smart Electric Power Alliance (SEPA), and the greater trade show community and do our part to push for a better path forward.
