Solar Event Heavyweights in U.S., Germany, China to Announce New Partnership
The veteran leaders of Solar Power International (SPI), SNEC, and Deutsche Messe have announced a new joint venture to bring the premier solar trade show experience to Mexico. Solar Power Mexico, launching in 2019, will be a B2B event assisting solar power and energy storage professionals with accessing and navigating this booming market.
During this month’s Solar Power International, Stephen Miner, President & CEO of SPI, Madame Mi Yue, Founder and CEO, SNEC PV Power Expo, and Benjamin Low, Global Director Energy, Deutsche Messe AG will host solar industry leaders and supporters during an informational session about Solar Power Mexico and how it can help international companies maximize the emerging opportunities in Mexico’s PV sector. This unique collaboration between leading international solar event organizations puts a crucial new conference on the map for business and organizations interested in Mexican solar power.
The solar industry in Mexico is being driven by favorable energy policies, low solar prices, and increasing energy demand. On top of the 2012 General Climate on Change Law, which targets a portfolio of 35% renewables by 2024 and 50% by 2050, Mexico’s Secretariat of Energy sees 11.6 GW of cumulative PV power and 58.5 GW of clean energy by 2032. Additionally, Mexico’s plentiful solar resources means there is ample opportunity for accelerated industry growth in the solar arena.

The Solar Power Mexico Informational Session will take place on Tuesday, September 25 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. PT, during Solar Power International at the Anaheim Convention Center. The inaugural Solar Power Mexico will be held March 19-21, 2019 at the Centro Citibanamex in Mexico City, Mexico.
