ANAHEIM, CALIF. – Vice President Joe Biden will deliver remarks at Solar Power International (SPI), Sept. 14-17, 2015 in Anaheim, Calif.  Confirmed yesterday by the Office of the Vice President, Biden’s remarks will be part of the Wednesday, Sept. 16 General Session.

SPI is the largest solar power trade show in North America, with over 600 exhibitors and 15,000 attendees. This year’s event includes more than 100 educational sessions and an Expo Hall with hundreds of exhibitors.

Continuing on its record-breaking trajectory, the United States solar industry surpassed 20 gigawatts (GW) of total operational solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity during the second quarter of this year. According to GTM Research and the Solar Energy Industries Association’s (SEIA) Q2 2015 U.S. Solar Market Insight Report, the U.S. installed 1,393 megawatts of PV last quarter, showcasing both annual and quarterly growth.

Against this backdrop of dramatic growth, the Vice President will deliver remarks at SPI, becoming the first sitting Vice President to address any solar conference in North America.

                    Thursday, September 17. 

                     Vice President Biden will Deliver Remarks at

                     11:00am on Wednesday, September 16 in the 3rd Floor

                     Ballroom of the Convention Center.

HOW: Media interested in covering the Vice President’s

                   remarks must register no later than 6:00pm, Tuesday,

Note: The Vice President’s speech is coverage only and there will be no separate interviews or availabilities although SEIA CEO Rhone Resch will conduct a media availability immediately after the Vice President’s speech. All registered media covering the Vice President’s speech must first check-in at SPI Registration on the first floor of the Anaheim Convention Center, and be set in Main Hall of the Convention Center by 10:00AM Wednesday, September 16th.  No media will be allowed in after that time.
