SPI Named “Most Engaging Show Floor” by Trade Show Executive Magazine
Alexandria, VA, October 16, 2015– Solar Power International (SPI) received the award of “Stickiest Show Floor” during the Trade Show Executive’s Gold 100 Awards & Summit. Trade Show Executive’s Gold 100 Awards & Summit recognizes the 100 largest trade shows that have set the standard for the trade show industry.
SPI is North America’s largest solar conference, boasting over 15,000 attendees, 600 exhibitors, top-notch industry-focused and technical education, and representation from leaders in the global solar market. SPI is the only trade show with the support of leading national solar organizations, Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and Solar Electric Power Association (SEPA). SPI 2014 was also ranked #25 in Trade Show Executive’s Fastest 50 and is ranked #109 in the Top 250 Largest Trade Shows (by Trade Show News Network), making SPI the only solar show to make all three lists.
Solar Power International is a one of–a-kind conference and the social media activity surrounding the show exemplifies that. In 2014, attendees were able to connect and network via the conference hashtag #SPIcon before, during and after the show. SPI started the conference with a dynamic opening general session and welcome reception on the show floor that was integrated across Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. While the attendees were networking, playing solar trivia, firing solar photon guns, and searching to complete puzzles and networking challenges, they were posting their pictures and creating a large solar mural for display.
In 2015, SPI’s attendance and exhibitors increased from 2014. SPI also welcomed Vice President Joe Biden who delivered remarks at the Wednesday General Session.
